The summer of 2012 through my Lomography Fisheye 1 camera

So, as I posted several months ago, I bought a Fisheye 1 from Lomography to take with me on our summer vacation in Italy and Finland. I wanted a cheap camera- so it wouldn’t bother me if the hot sun and the sand would ruin it but at the same time I wanted pictures with better quality than with an exposable camera.

And I really wanted to photograph again on film. Not digital ones.

I finally had time to get the film rolls to be developed into pictures and here are a few of them…

Typical Italy

Roman time theatre (Lecce)

Tomatoes drying under the sun (Ugento)

We slept the first nights in a tent before we noticed that all 5-star hotels in Italy were at -70% on hotels.com :) (Gallipoli)

A place called "Supersano" that means "Superhealthy". (Supersano)

Piaggio Ape. Do I need to say some more? (Otranto)

Typical colorful fishing boats... (Otranto)

A Vespa. (Amalfi)

Beach Life

Porto Cesareo

Torre San Giovanni

Lido Marini

Rivabella

Aosta

The Amalfi Coast

Vesuvio, Pompei and Napoli

PechaKucha Night

Hi guys :) Do you know what's PechaKucha? It is a presenting method where instead of speaking a power point presentation for hours, there is a rule of having 20 slides and each slides will be shown for 20 second which means the presentation will be 6 minutes and 40 seconds in total.

In the company I work for we have sometimes used this method and I have to say it is great. People who are into their own thing tend to talk about all kinds of small details and forgetting the big picture.

Anyway, yesterday the magazine Svensk Form organized their 36th PechaKucha evening for designers and architects so Tobias, his 2 friends, Betta, Giuliano, Fra and me went to listen.

Vivi Toulomidi had a presentation about the jewellery she does of natural materials and after moving from Greece to Sweden she has started to make them from wood. Ulrika Mårtensson had a presentation about architectural materials made of fabrics. Hung Ming Chen, one of my favorites,  had a presentation about a design company that he runs together with his wife and about the products they have designed. His main point was that when you buy something, it should be designed to last and also so that when the product changes with time that the changes are nice. Products, that a user will have for life and never throw away. He had the Alvar Aalto Stool as a good example.

Jennie Rhönnstad talked about the jewellerys she designs of used materials and with humor (you can shop them here), David Tiberg about his thesis work of a new railway and Magdalena Peres told the story of how she went to Japan to be taught by her sensei all about Indigo coloring.

The well-known milliner Malinda Damgaard (who designs hats for Valentino, Lady Gaga and Alexander McQueen) was very cool! Ninna Berger talked about black used materials. Which was just boring and strange.  Victor Erlandsson about the people who inspired him, actor David Wiberg actually talked through his whole life in a very funny and very sad way and the last one was David Orlic about the amazing and world known twitter account @sweden. And especially about all the insane publicity and articles this twitter account has created!

Monday

This weekend was great - as weekends usually are.

There was time for everything- it seems. I read a whole book, went jogging in the park, had time to clean up the whole apartment and store all summer clothes in boxes, relax in the sauna, watch some movies, have Afterwork-drinks on Friday with Simone and Doris, a lovely dinner party on Saturday at Roberto's and Maria's together with Utkum, Antonio, Fra, Steven and Costanza and even time to watch the whole streaming of Felix Baumgartner's jump!

Back to Monday and wondering when it's again Friday and what fun things next weekend will bring :)

Habanero Chili Liquorice

Mutta nyt taas up and running.

Muuta syysmerkkejä:
- Kirjakaupasta ostin tänään Martina Haagin uusimman ja jonkun ruotsalaisen kirjailijan kirjan jossa joku perustaa aikuisille uimakoulun. Syysiltoina on ihana lukea höyryävä teekuppi seurana.
- Ruotsalais-Italialainen elokuva Videocracy, elokuva miten Berlusconin omistamat TV-kanavat vaikuttavat Italian kansaan, oli hyvä. Elokuvia on ihana katsella jos ikkunanlaudalla ropisee sade.
- Sain vihdoin itseäni niskasta kiinni ja lähetin kesän filmirullat kehitykseen.
- Kylläpäs lämpökynttilöitä kuluu!
- Keittiön yrttiruukusta on häipynyt basilika ja rosmariinia löytyy entistä enemmän ruuasta.

Viikonlopun Instagrammit ja pesto-ohje

- Rosmariinia ikkunanlaudalla ottamassa aurinkoa
- Runsaasti valkosipulia itsetehdyssä pestossa, jotta saisi flunssan karkotettua
- Vihdoin löysin ihanaa hunajaa Ruotsissa! Nam.

My Weekend in Instagrams

So, we flew to Milan last Friday. To keep keep the body hydrated while flying (I really hate the dry cabin air, even if I hate even more the price of water on airports) I bought a water among these cute bottles.

Up in the air I finished 2 unread books so afterwards in my boredom I photographed the sky with different apps. First one is an instagram and second is a snapster from the exact same view.

That was Friday. Oh, there were some dinner and good conversations as well. But they are not on film.

On Saturday morning I sang Happy Birthday in 4 languages to Fra and on Saturday afternoon I wanted to go to my favorite icecream place to have roasted pistachio. It is heavenly.

The weather was nice so we took a nice walk around the Navigli area. I photographed all kinds of signs and texts.

One thing that amazes me incredibly are the roof terraces in Italy. The house can look shabby as hell from the outside but then there can be wonderful terraces and inner yards like fairy tale forests.

After the afternoon moment it was time for a whole night Birthday Party. Mika, Fabio and Fra hosted it together at a nice place that was decorated with tons of Vespas. We were about 60 people there even if so so many declined because of a flu. It was a great night :)

On Sunday after breakfast Fra and I went shopping for all the things that are amazing in Italy and terrible or just unfairly expensive in Sweden, like coffee, cheese and Marseillais soap.

...Then we had some tea at Giovanni's and Sonia's and the babybump's place...

...We also went to Noemi's (Fra's sister) and my favorite shoe shop Cenerentola (Cinderella in italian) to get her a gift card as a birthday present :) On the way I saw many cute bikes, like this one:

I also photographed some cute texts written here and there. Like this one "Amore, 6 (sei) la mia vita" that means "Honey, you are my life". I was wearing a dress from Twist & Tango for the Birthday celebration lunch at Fra's grandparent's place. We celebrated also his brother and sister with a bunch of great food.

Then, on Sunday evening we flew back to Stockholm and here we are.

Those were this weekend's instagrams.

The Cube
