The Grand Hotel Budapest

I'm not so much for Wes Anderson's movies but The Grand Hotel Budapest was pure magic. Watch it- you'll be happy :)

Her

Illallisemme jälkeen kävimme elokuvateatterissa katsomassa elokuvan nimeltä "Her".

Miksi muuten Joaquin Phoenix aina näyttää sarjamurhaajalta?

7 p 10 e

This is just so adorable :)

I read about it in Sandra's blog and now I am so hooked.

Patrick and Cora are two single friends of Alison's. Alison sends an e-mail to both of them and demands that they talk on Skype. The first time they talk on Skype they make a New Year's resolution to call each other every evening during January, at 7 o'clock Pacific time and 10 o'cklock Eastern time..

I don't care at all how much is a set-up or scripted before, I love it.

Mr. Morgan's Last Love

Ihana.

Burlesque

When I came across a movie that Christina Aguilera and Cher stars I thought hell-no, so not for me. But I continued searching for a movie with some other story than just the same old same old and I found Burlesque on my list again.

It is amazing.

Besides Christina and Cher the cast consists of handsome Eric Dane and Cam Gigandet and my favorite Stanley Tucci.

But the movie- it has just so amazing scenes, so great clothing and the story isn't bad either- even if it's certainly not the reason to watch it.

A R G O

When the movie Argo (that I had not heard about at all before) won 3 Oscars I thought I should watch it. Somehow I forgot about it though until last week Fra and I were searching for something to watch...

The movie is about the rescue of six U.S. diplomats from Iran duing the 1979 hostige situation.

Of course the movie has gotten a lot of criticism from Iranians but also Canadians and the British of it's accuracy. Nevertheless the movie is really good as a movie- watch it!

Covert Affairs

Quite nice clothes, good looking men, a lot of action, relationship drama and a new city from around the world- that's why I started to love this very low budget, naive series called Covert Affairs. It was superbad in season 1 but now by season 4 I am completely hooked. The best one is the adorable, blind nerd. Oh, and they are all CIA agents.

Soul Kitchen

We recently watched a German comedy called Soul Kitchen and it was quite good so I wanted to tell about it. It has received some prize at the Venice film festival in 2009. It is a movie with nice shabby chic venues and enjoyable music! Humour and love- just a nice good-mood movie that will make you smile.

Silver Linings Playbook

I have been wanting to see The Silver Linings Playbook ever since Jennifer Lawrence won the Golden Globes and got an Oscar of her role in it but I just didn't have time. Until a few days ago.

I liked the movie. It is nice to see a romantic comedy from a completely different angle, this time from the perspective of two people who are mentally ill. The thing that really touched through for me how well I could feel the character's being vulnerable.

And anyway, who does not want to stare at Bradley Cooper for 2 hours.

Bored To Death

If someone is in the need of a good new tv-series to get addicted to, watch Bored To Death. It is so hilarious. Basically there is this writer who is not inspired to write anything and starts a new career as an unlicensed private detective and gets help from his snobish boss and friend- the comic book artist- who both struggle with women and relationships.

Les poupées russes

Are you craving for a French movie? Watch Les Poupées Russes- it has it all. I even took a break in my 4-years-without-television just to watch this movie yesterday evening. Scenes from Paris, London, St.Petersburg and Moscow... and relationship drama after relationship drama with a funny french twist and a lot of details to watch and notice.

Rock of Ages

When you hear that there is a movie where Tom Cruise, Malin Åkerman, Mary J Blige, Alec Baldwin, Russel Brand and Catherine Zeta-Jones sings rock songs from Scorpions, Guns N'Roses, Bon Jovi and Def Lepard you kinda wanna see it.

The movie was funny and corny and bad and good and I liked it a lot but would not watch it again.

Skyfall

In general I am not a huge fan of the James Bond movies that are not completely based on Ian Flemings books. Especially the previous ones have just been weird action movies that haven't even been based so much on the James Bond character we all know from the books.

Daniel Craig as James Bond is not working for me either. I really liked Sean Connery, Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan. I think they were able to be funny, charming and anyway have that exactness and awerness that a spy should have. Timothy Dalton and George Lazenby were not bad but not great either. But Daniel Craig is not funny at all. Not the slithest bit. Not so charming either. He is just cold hearted and not likable at all.

So against all odds I really liked Skyfall and even Daniel Craig in it. See it in a movie theatre, the sound effects makes it great.

To Rome With Love

Do you wanna see a great movie? Something with really good twists? Something extremely funny and romantic and just absolutely great? Go to watch To Rome with Love by Woody Allen.

Fra and I went to check it this rainy Sunday afternoon.

A movie where the one getting robbed thanks the thief and where irony doesn't even begin to explain famousness and where a whole opera is sang with the main actor in the shower and- with Roberto Benigni and Woody Allen in the same movie.

And the wonderful Rome.

Here is the trailer.

Magic Mike

I went to the cinema on Sunday to check out the movie Magic Mike; that I have to admit that I have been waiting for for months. I had thought (based on articles and trailers) that it would be much more a comedy than a drama. I was wrong.

First I was a bit dissapointed that it was not as I had expected and I couldn't really say if I liked it or not... but now afterwards I would kind of want to see it again.

Have you seen the movie? What did you think?

I think the movie was actually quite good but the trailer has been made to get a lot of women to have girl's night out at the cinema ... as the trailer does not show anything of the serious drama part that actually rules the movie and actually makes it really good.

Leap Year

Anyone in the need of a good chic flick? Watch Leap Year. Based on the trailer the movie seemed a bit boring, the plot sounded predictable but I anyway watched it when I had the opportunity and it was sooo funny! I was laughing out loud several times :) And the romantic story grows and grows making you very happy. Great panoramic views of Ireland as well.

2 Broke Girls

At this time of the year I always face the same problem- what to do on rainy Sunday afternoons or sleepless Tuesday evenings when all the good shows go on summer brake.

I've tried to get into Friends, Will & Grace and SATC again but after seeing the seasons for the 100th time and knowing by heart every single line I notice I leave the show on in the background and start reading blogs...

I tried to get into "Veep" and some other so called funny shows but they just didn't do it for me. After some serious research I found something created by Michael Patrick King; 2 Broke Girls.

Hi-la-ri-ous !

Ps. Jennifer Coolidge will always be "Stifler's Mum" to me. Impossible to think of her as someone else.
