Tour on Naviglio Grande

Over 1000 years ago construction material for building the city of Milan was transported water ways. The canals used are called Navigli and today they are not used for anything "useful" anymore. The canoe club trains there and that's about it. However, last summer some companies started to make boat trips for tourists along the canals and since then Fra and I have been thinking of taking part in one trip. The funny thing is that everyone on the boat was from Milan, so I guess the people of the city are more interested in it than tourists :) Probably because it has not been allowed to boat along the Navigli before...? Anyway, it was a very relaxed and nice thing to do on a Sunday afternoon and fun to see the cute cafeterias, cool aperitivo places and corky second hand shops from a different angle.
Drinking a coffee and waiting for the trip to start

The back-up plan was to take a motorbike trip again, if we couldn't fit into the ship (a limit of 25 places)

Spotting a cute couple eating ice cream exactly where we usually eat ice cream :)

Beautiful Navigli

San Cristoforo, one of the most beautiful churches of Milan. The picture is just taken from a very bad angle.

A lot of people enjoy the Navigli-area on Sundays.
